Once the foundations and box beam of the straw-bale house were completed, we focussed on a quick project to create a beautiful space for yoga, meditation and general chill out. The foundations for this area were made during the summer with lots of help from our friends and they served as a practice ground for the rammed-tyre foundations we used to make the house foundations.
Whilst placing our wood order for the house we also ordered some gorgeous decking wood and enough douglas fir for the framework underneath.
It’s quite a large space – 4.8m x 4.8m! But this provides lots of lovely room for group yoga sessions π Happy days…
We created a square framework on top of the tyres and placed OSB caps in between the tyres and the frame. Joists were placed every 40cms with two noggins per joist to distribute the weight. Simples. The decking wood was spaced a nail’s width apart above the framework and screwed directly into it. A tiny overhang was intentionally left in order to hide the framework and some of the tyres, although we may create woven willow walls to go around the outside of the tyres.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped us to create the area, we look forward to sharing it with you in the years to come π
Thats so cool, and on your birthday too, well according to facebook anyway

Yoga has so much importance in India.
There are so many benefits of yoga.
we generally use a saying An apple a day keeps doctor away
but in my opinion performing yoga everyday will never let you meet any physician
