Packing My Bags For The Misty Mountains
Delving into the true essence of the people who are born, live and work in the mountains.
As I travelled along I found myself not only wanting to watch the sunset but actually becoming obsessed with being there, by the ocean, each day.
This is a small sample of the billions of photos I took of the sunrises and sunsets over the Atlantic but also some of Portugal's flagship cities.
I am a total sucker for the big glowing orb, no matter if the camera on my phone can't do it justice. Pinks skies.....all the way!

I had such a brilliant time cycling with Marie but the human connections were what made it all so memorable. I fully embraced the selfie on this trip, regaining my proficiency with the art form!
Portugal gave me the opportunity to interact with and befriend people from all walks of life. We shared our culture, language, living habits, food, souls, conversations and laughter. As one new buddy put it - this is why we travel, to open our hearts and minds when many other entities around us would have us close them.

Ok, I caved....here are just a few of the staggering landscapes I saw cycling in Portugal.
Originally I planned to cycle part way along the coast of Alentejo, turning inland to create a big circle back to Lisboa. This plan fell by the wayside big time when I FELL IN LOVE with the Atlantic over and over again. I just kept on going down the stunning coastline, next to my big blue buddy, all the way to the Algarve. Best laid plans and all that... .

It's pretty tough to choose only 10 photos to summarise a month of cycle touring adventures in Portugal. I couldn't decide what to focus on; the stunning landscape? The gorgeous people? The millennial in me who took photos of my food (1000s of pastel de nata)? The ocean? The beaches?
At the end of my deliberating I realised there is really only one element that matters above them all: Marie, my bike, my transportation, my companion, my saviour, my washing-line, my fun, my sing-a-long whilst riding buddy, and apparently my muse 😍🚴
